The School for Good Mothers

I found this book on Barack Obama's summer reading list so I checked to see if it was available and started reading it.

Summary: The beginning of the book was kind of confusing because it was all over the place. But basically Frida, left her baby daughter at home, to go get files from work. Some nosy neighbor called the police because she heard crying. Frida is now arrested and has a court case. In the meantime of that, she is being monitored by Child Services at her home. (They set up cameras and stake out in her attic) After that, she is guilty so then she has to go to this school where all bad moms go to. And they have to say "I'm a bad mother because I abandoned my child" and more like that. She actually make friends there. They also use life like robot dolls for the mothers to show that they can take care of kids.

My Review: This book made me want to cry and yell at the child service people, I enjoyed this book because of the connections Frida made with the other mothers and how much she loves her daughter.

Rating:

4/5 Stars, because the ending wasn't the ending I wanted.
