The Giver

The Giver is a dystopian book set in a world where people have no memories except for The Giver. It starts with a boy named Jonas who is 12 years old. When each person reaches the age of 12, they are each given a duty/job. When Jonas went, he received the job of Receiver of Memory, the Giver is an old man who gives Jonas memories, Jonas learns about how the world looked like before. There was love, religion, and freedom. In the world he's in, it's plain, you can't see any color, love is not a word, and strict rules. He soon then learns how people release the elderly and the babies who are weak, he then takes a baby named Gabriel and runs away from the town, hoping to find a better place.
